Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
with Certification by the American Chemical Society

In addition to completing the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, students who complete the requirements below will be Certified by the American Chemical Society Committee on Professional Training.

• One of the following
  • CHEM - 410 - Advanced Quantitative Analysis (3 s.h.)
• CHEM - 430 - Advance Organic Chemistry (3 s.h.)
• CHEM - 440 - Advanced Physical Chemistry (3 s.h.)
• CHEM - 423 - Advanced Inorganic Chemistry (3 s.h.)
• One of the following
  • CHEM - 422 - Experimental Inorganic Chemistry (3 s.h.)
• CHEM - 498 - Senior Laboratory (3 s.h.)
• CHEM - 499 - Undergraduate Research minimum (3 s.h.)

* Courses used to fulfill the elective requirement for the Chemistry Major cannot also be used to fulfill requirement I of the ACS Certification program. This restriction does not apply to requirements II and III. Thus, completion of the ACS Certification will add from 3 to 9 s.h. to the 61 s.h required for the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
