Text Book: "Chemistry", Sixth Edition" by Zumdahl & Zumdahl (Houghten-Mifflin 2003). The text is most useful if you read each topic before the lecture

Supplementary Course Materials: Saftey Glasses are required to work in the Laboratory. They may be purchased at the University Bookstore. The Chemistry Computer Lab in RI-365 is available for student use. Twelve PC's are available with a wide variety of software specialized for use by chemists, including Spartan, Gaussian, HyperChem, ChemSite, JUMP, ChemDraw, and many others.

Course Requirements:

Four exams worth 60%
A Comprehensive Final Examination worth 15%
Laboratory assignments worth 25%
Various graded homework assignments and/or quizes may be added

  9. The Nucleus: A Chemist's View (Chapter 18)
